An Old TV into a Book Shelf

On: Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Isn't it brilliant? I have a couple of those 20-year-old TVs in my garage - I never thought about reusing them this way!

Unlike a TV aquarium we saw previously, this one is so easy to make! All you need is an old TV and 20 minutes of work!

Plastic Bottle Candle Holder

What a nice eco-friendly way to celebrate the Earth day for example! Or if you are an eco-friendly couple, you definitely need these plastic bottle candle holders for any celebration you have (and maybe also these CD candle holders for a change).

DIY Wood Log Table

On: Monday, August 30, 2010

We had a birch log table yesterday and now we have another bright idea! A table made of piles of logs and sticks.

The whole thing looks awesome when piled together! Good job!

Plastic Bottles into a Coin Bank

This DIY project is from the same series as he plastic bottle magazine rack we have just shared.

A plastic bottle coin bank seems a bit harder to make but it looks so much fun! And a nice motivation to save money as well!

Some DIY projects are fun and beautiful, others are useful and simply genius - this is is both.

Surely, it all comes to implementation - would be able to make the thing as aesthetic? But the idea is surely a cool one!

I have no idea how solid and reliable the construction is - the good news is that it's a designer thing but you can try making it at home.

There's no an instruction but I don't think it is too hard to construct. Just glue the nespresso containers in a stand!

In any case, it does look like a pretty thing:

An Old TV into Aquarium

A beautiful aquarium is a great decoration for any interior. But what if that's a TV aquarium? Imagine how cool it would be to have this ingenious Reef Tank which can be put in your Grandma's 1955 television!

Getting Carried Away with DIY Duct Tape

On: Friday, August 27, 2010

There are lots of great uses for duct tape.

You can use it in your home, around the yard, on your car, at work, and even on ducts. Duct tape has become an obsession for many people too and the DIY duct tape fad has taken on a life of it's own.

Here are a few DIY duct tape projects that may or may not have gone a little too far.
You be the judge...

1) A Crib
It's hard to say if this is hilarious or if we should be concerned for this baby's safety.

Fortunately duct tape is very strong so she should be safe!

2) A Couch

Here is a DIY duct tape couch. Instead of springing for new upholstery this person decided to cover their old couch in duct tape.

It looks quite interesting but is it comfy?

3) A Bike

This one is more cruel than anything else. In fact, it's not even DIY, it looks like it's just a prank that someone did on a friend. I'm pretty sure that bike wont be moving for a while.

4) iPad Case

This surprisingly stylish iPad case was made with only duct tape.

It's a very resourceful case but it might take slightly longer to make than it would be to purchase one.

Sometime the best part of DIY is the D part though.

5) Toilet Paper

Sometimes DIY and duct tape just shouldn't go together and do-it-yourself duct tape toilet paper is a perfect example of that kind of situation.

Not only is duct tape fairly expensive, it's also sticky, slow, and probably the last thing you'd want to use in the bathroom. Keep making duct tape clothing and accessories people but maybe skip the duct tape toilet paper.
